On the afternoon of October 22, the Library Reader Service Department, in conjunction with the School of International Education, held a library orientation training event for the 2024 new international students on the Weigang campus. More than 30 international students participated in the training.
The training consists of two parts: introduction to library services and practical learning during library visits. First, in the academic lecture hall of the library, Teacher Yan Jin gave a detailed introduction to the library's general situation, paper resources, electronic resources, seat reservations and other services. Then Teacher Liu Yan led the international students to visit the library on site and demonstrated how to use the retrieval machine. , self-service borrowing and returning facilities, etc. In order to better teach international students how to use the library and show them China's excellent traditional culture, the teachers led the international students to visit the third lending room where original foreign language books are stored, the information desk on the second floor lobby with comprehensive service functions, and The "Single-person Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Room" showcases the charm of Chinese calligraphy and painting. In the Solo Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Room, many international students took photos excitedly. The entire visit was lively, with students constantly asking questions about issues they cared about. After the training, many international students still continued to communicate with the librarians. Most students scanned the QR code on the spot to join the "Nong Xiaotu in the Chinese Academy of Education" library QQ consultation service group, so that they can provide study consultation throughout Nannong's study period.
The library has always attached great importance to serving international students and readers, and has held orientation training for new students for more than ten years. It strives to use such training to help them quickly enter the learning state and integrate into the Nannong family. Before this international student admission education training, two teachers from the Reader Service Department actively communicated based on the experience of international student admission training in recent years, upgraded the training courseware content, and optimized the library visit route, with the purpose of ensuring the actual learning needs of international students. The training process was carefully sorted out. Over the past ten years, more and more international students have come to the library regularly and made more and more in-depth use of library resources and various services. For the library, especially the staff in the reader services department, this is the best recognition and encouragement.
