On the occasion of World Book Day, Wiley, together with the Documentation and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University Education Foundation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly launched a series of activities with the theme of "Gathering Academic Masters to Light up the Academic Road". We will invite active academic frontiers and Experienced experts and scholars will lead you to embark on the endless academic sea, discover rare treasures of knowledge, and share their academic experiences and successful scientific research methods.

Lecture Topic: Extracting Text Concepts and Relationships: Exploring the Infinite Possibilities of Knowledge Graphs to Serve Academic Exploration

Lecture time: April 17, 19:00-20:00

Lecture summary:

The exponential growth of scientific documents and data sets has placed a huge information burden on researchers. Extracting concepts and their relationships from texts to construct knowledge graphs provides an effective technical means. This lecture introduces the basic concepts and tools of medical knowledge graphs and their value in raising scientific questions and interpreting research results. Use the knowledge graph to make the introduction (proposing hypotheses) and discussion (mutual verification of results) of the article easier and more systematic.

Guest introduction:

Dr. Du Jian, assistant professor and doctoral supervisor at the National Institute of Health and Medical Big Data, Peking University

Main research directions: biomedical text mining, innovative applications of medical knowledge graphs (causal modeling, argument mining). In the past five years, he has presided over one young scientist project under the Ministry of Science and Technology’s key research and development plan, one National Natural Science Foundation of China general project, and one youth project each. He has published more than 30 SCI papers in authoritative journals such as Scientific Data, IP&M, JASIST, and JEBM in information management and biomedical informatics. Served as an editorial board member of Health Data Science. Received support from the Young Talent Promotion Project of the China Association for Science and Technology.
