Presenter

Dr. Cao Liangcai

Professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Precision Instruments, Tsinghua University

He is a fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) and the Optical Society of America (OPTICA), and a Yangtze River Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education. In 2005, he received a doctorate in optical engineering from Tsinghua University. After graduation, he has stayed at the school and has been working as a visiting scholar at the University of California, Santa Cruz and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research focus is on holographic optical imaging and display technology.

Application of AI in scientific research: How to improve research efficiency with the help of artificial intelligence

Dr. Zhou Hong

The Director of the Intelligent Services Team of Wiley Solutions Department is responsible for leading the team to design, develop and promote intelligent services/products to achieve automated, intelligent and efficient research and publishing processes by leveraging AI, big data and cloud technologies. As an outstanding expert at the National Key Laboratory of Knowledge Mining and Services for Medical Journals in China, he has published more than 50 research papers and articles on computer science and AI topics, and regularly speaks at famous industry events. In 2023, he was appointed as a "Chef of the Scholarly Kitchen" by Scholarly Kitchen, a world-renowned academic publishing media. Recently received an Honorable Mention in the 2024 APE Scholarly Communication Innovation Awards.

Presenter

Dr. Chang Guoqing

Distinguished researcher at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, doctoral supervisor

Obtained a PhD from the University of Michigan in 2006. In 2012, he was appointed as a Helmholtz researcher in Germany. He founded the ultrafast laser optics and coherent microscopy technology research group at the German Electron Synchrotron Radiation National Laboratory (DESY) and served as the project leader (doctoral supervisor). At the end of 2016, he was awarded Permanent position. From 2012 to 2017, he served as a visiting researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since 2019, he has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). He currently serves as an editorial board member of "Optics Express", "High Power Laser Science & Engineering", "Applied Sciences", "Acta Photonics", and "Optoelectronic Products and Information". The main research directions are high-power ultrafast fiber laser, mid-infrared laser frequency comb and multi-photon biomedical imaging.

Topic 4

Extracting text concepts and relationships: exploring the infinite possibilities of knowledge graphs for academic exploration

Lecture Summary

The exponential growth of scientific documents and data sets has placed a huge information burden on researchers. Extracting concepts and their relationships from texts to construct knowledge graphs provides an effective technical means. This lecture introduces the basic concepts and tools of medical knowledge graphs and their value in raising scientific questions and interpreting research results. Use the knowledge graph to make the introduction (proposing hypotheses) and discussion (mutual verification of results) of the article easier and more systematic.

Dr. Du Jian

Assistant professor and doctoral supervisor at the National Institute of Health and Medical Big Data, Peking University

Main research directions: biomedical text mining, innovative applications of medical knowledge graphs (causal modeling, argument mining). In the past five years, he has presided over one young scientist project under the Ministry of Science and Technology’s key research and development plan, one National Natural Science Foundation of China general project, and one youth project each. He has published more than 30 SCI papers in authoritative journals such as Scientific Data, IP&M, JASIST, and JEBM in information management and biomedical informatics. Served as an editorial board member of Health Data Science. Received support from the Young Talent Promotion Project of the China Association for Science and Technology.

Dr. Tian Hao

Young associate researcher at School of Journalism, Fudan University

Graduated from Tsinghua University with a Ph.D., his main research fields are international communication and cross-cultural communication, journalism research, and digital media culture research. In the past five years, he has independently or jointly published more than 30 CSSCI and SSCI indexed papers. His representative results have been published in academic journals such as "Journalism and Communication Research", "Journalism University", "Modern Communication", "Contemporary Film", and "Journalists" . He has won National Scholarship, Beijing Outstanding Graduate, Tsinghua University Outstanding Graduation Thesis, Qihao New Media Research "Academic Rookie" Award, etc.
