On the afternoon of November 22, 2023, the library art appreciation lecture "It's better to have tea - Tea Paintings in Ancient China" was held in the academic lecture hall of the Weigang campus library. The guest speaker was Mr. Lin Guowei, a training lecturer at the Chinese Art Appreciation Library, Nannong More than 200 teachers and students attended the lecture.

"Tea is a drink that originated from Shennong and was heard by Duke Zhou of Lu". Lin Guowei explained the development history of ancient Chinese tea culture through a number of famous paintings handed down from ancient times, based on the records in Lu Yu's "The Book of Tea" and the resources of the "World Art Appreciation Database". In different periods, the drinking methods of tea were presented in different forms, namely "fried in the Tang Dynasty, fried in the Song Dynasty, brewed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties". The evolution and popularity of tea activities are also reflected in the paintings of the past dynasties. "Xiao Yizhuo Orchid Pavilion Picture Scroll" by Yan Liben of the Tang Dynasty, "Chasing Scroll of Tea" by Liu Songnian of the Song Dynasty, "Shi Ming Picture Scroll" by Tang Yin of the Ming Dynasty... Teacher Lin has used many tea ceremony paintings to explore the ancient tea drinking methods in different periods. A vivid explanation was given, presenting an immersive artistic conception to the teachers and students present, allowing them to deeply appreciate the elegance of the ancients and feel the charm of traditional tea culture and painting art.
