On the afternoon of November 18th, the release ceremony of the 2022 edition of Nanjing Agricultural University's school history was held at the Weigang School History Museum. Chen Ligen , secretary of the school party committee, Dong Weichun, vice president, Tang Mingzhen, alumni representative and chief agronomist of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Chen Hua, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Local Chronicles Office and curator of the Provincial Local Chronicles Museum, attended the opening ceremony. The event was presided over by Wang Chunchun, deputy secretary of the school party committee.

Dong Weichun, deputy director of the school history editorial committee and executive editor-in-chief, introduced the revision of the school history. He pointed out that the revision of the new school history is a grand campus culture construction project, aiming to carry forward the 120 - year school history of Nannong , inherit the culture, summarize the past, and inspire the future. Under the principle of "respecting the inheritance and innovation of history", It has gathered the labor and wisdom of nearly a hundred school history editors for more than two years, and also conveyed the deep feelings of China Agricultural Press and alumni ; the new version of school history has made school history education the core of Nannong's "Four History Education" An important part, it has become an important carrier for the spiritual education of scientists and the education of knowing and loving farmers.

Kang Min, Deputy Director of the Library and Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, introduced the publication of books on behalf of Wu Xufeng, President of the Breeding Branch of China Agricultural Publishing House. Wu Xufeng is a graduate of our school's veterinary medicine major. He expressed that during the publishing process, the editors communicated with each other to ensure the accuracy, authority and scientificity of the content, and wished his alma mater a brighter tomorrow!

At the launch ceremony, Chen Ligen , Secretary of the Party Committee of the school , and Bao Shiwen , representative of the old professor , jointly unveiled the new book .

Secretary Chen presented books to the representatives of teachers and students present respectively . They are retired teacher representatives Professor Bao Shiwen and Professor Jiang Baoqing, Professor Zhong Funing, Director of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Ma Zhengqiang of the Department of Plant Science, Professor Zhu Weiyun, Director of the Department of Animal Science, and Professor Zhu Weiyun of the Department of Biology and Environment. Professor Qiang Sheng, Professor Lu Zhixiong from the Department of Food and Engineering , alumni representative Tang Mingzhen and some student representatives.

In Tang Mingzhen ’s speech, he recalled his time studying in Nannong . He said that Nannong’s study had a profound impact on his life. He sincerely thanked his alma mater for his training and expressed his congratulations to Nanjing Agricultural University on behalf of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

On behalf of the Local Chronicles Office of Jiangsu Province, Chen Hua exchanged books on local history with Guo Zhongxing, Director of the Library of Nanjing Agricultural University and Minister of Cultural Heritage .

Student representatives presented flower baskets to the Nannong sages represented by Mr. Chen Yuguang. The editor-in-chief and deputy editor-in-chief of each chapter of school history, the heads of relevant colleges and units of the school, and representatives of teachers and students participated in this launch ceremony.

According to reports, the new version of the school history consists of three volumes, "History of the Development of Nanjing Agricultural University ( 1902-2022)", "Characters of Nanjing Agricultural University (1902-2022)" and "Illustrated Nannong 120", with a total of more than 1.6 million words and three volumes It is both independent and integrated. Among them, "History of the Development of Nanjing Agricultural University (1902-2022)" records that Nannong started three schools in Sanjiang Normal School in 1902, in 1912 as the first category A agricultural school in Jiangsu Province, and in 1914 in Jinling University. From its origin, it has gone through the 120-year history of running a school through Zhongda Jinda Agricultural College and Nanjing Agricultural College, and striving to become a world-class university with agricultural characteristics. "Characters of Nanjing Agricultural University (1902-2022)" includes 167 important historical figures including the main leaders of the school and Jinda Agricultural College of CUHK, academicians among alumni, and well-known scholars with work experience in Nanjing Agricultural University for more than a century. "Illustrated Nannong 120" presents 120 wonderful moments in the 120-year school running process from the four aspects of cultural inheritance, pioneering roads, family and country feelings, and agricultural prosperity in China.

Compared with the previous editions of school history, the new version of school history has opened up new ideas, new methods and new ways of school history research, combined with the century-old changes in China's agricultural and rural development and the development of higher agricultural education in the world, supplemented and corrected the historical facts of school history, Focus on excavating and promoting the value of school history, making Nannong School’s traceability and historical evolution more comprehensive, the school’s spirit and mission more clear, and expanding the scope of application and readership of Nannong’s school history.
