On the morning of November 18th, Nanjing Agricultural University's "120th Anniversary Love and Painting" exhibition of calligraphy and painting works by teachers and students of Nanjing Agricultural University opened at the Museum of Chinese Agricultural Civilization. Dong Weichun, vice president and curator of the Chinese Agricultural Civilization Museum, Wang Hongyi, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing Agricultural University, Wang Yaonan, former vice president of Nanjing Agricultural University, Zhai You, vice president and secretary-general of Jiangsu Chinese Painting Society, president of Jiangsu Xu Beihong Research Association, Nanjing Bi Baoxiang, a professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Normal University, and others attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Kang Min, Deputy Director of the Library and Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage. Many of the works exhibited this time reflect the vivid scenes of Nannong people of various ages, taking root in the fields, dedicating themselves to farming, and farming the world. They interpreted the original intention of cultivating talents with actions, the responsibility of serving "three rural areas" and the mission of revitalizing the countryside. Finally, he hoped that teachers and students could carefully understand the sincere emotions behind the works, continue to cultivate the deep feelings of loving and honoring the school, continue to adhere to the original mission of "serving the country through education", inherit and carry forward the spirit of the school motto of "sincerity, simplicity and diligence", and contribute to the construction of agriculture. On behalf of the painter, Professor Zuo Zhuangwei of the Academy of Fine Arts of Nanjing Normal University, said that the works in this exhibition are of high quality and can fully feel our national spirit and national culture in the painting. Professor Zuo pointed out that we artists create with true feelings, sincerity, and kindness, and our works contain the best things of human beings. Subsequently, Zhai You, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Chinese Painting Society, and Guo Zhongxing, Director of the Library and Minister of Cultural Heritage, jointly unveiled the opening of the exhibition. The curator of the event, Li Li, director of the Chinese Agricultural Civilization Museum, introduced some representative works for everyone.
It is reported that this event is sponsored by the library (Department of Cultural Heritage), co-organized by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, Trade Union, Youth League Committee, Retirement Office, Alumni Association Office, School of Humanities, and undertaken by the Chinese Agricultural Civilization Museum. Nearly 200 calligraphy and painting works of teachers and students were collected for the exhibition, and more than 70 works were finally shortlisted for this exhibition after selection by the expert review team.
