In order to let the graduates feel the warmth and care of the school library again, leave good memories of the reading time in the university, enhance the graduates' love for and rejuvenation of the school, encourage the graduates to grasp the correct direction of life development in the future, and know how to convey love, To share resources and set an example for students in school, the Reader Service Department of the library organized a series of theme education activities for the 2022 graduation season.
1. Reading Star Selection Activity
According to the number of books borrowed by readers during the four-year (five-year) period and the reading time in the library, 35 readers who have borrowed more than 200 books were selected as "reading stars", and honorary certificates and graduation gift packages were awarded; "Reading Star" recommends sharing good books and reading experiences for juniors and juniors. Among them, Liang Dong from Tuguan 183 wrote in his reading experience of the book "Three Rural Issues and Institutional Changes": Before this book, my understanding of the issue of agriculture, rural areas and farmers was only in its literal meaning, and since I grew up in a city, my understanding of rural areas was very shallow. Mr. Wen Tiejun summarized the development experience since the founding of New China from the perspective of urban-rural relations. The earth shook my understanding of the history of New China, and made me see the responsibility and mission of the rural society. He said that as a student of agricultural colleges and universities who care about China's future, he should not only learn from Mr. Wen Tiejun's "learning with feet" Spirit, we should see the overall significance of the three rural issues to social development and even national rejuvenation from historical experience.
2. The most beautiful graduation photos and the most affectionate confession collection activities
The library accompanies Nannong students to spend the most unforgettable university time, carrying their youthful years and leaving a good memory in it. When parting, there are many unforgettable complexes with the library day and night that need to be expressed affectionately. For this reason, the library has set up a graduation message wall at the entrance of the north gate, equipped with a WeChat photo printer, for readers to print graduation photos and DIY. Photo message. The event attracted more than 1,500 readers to experience the fun of WeChat printing. A total of 3,816 photos were printed, and nearly 300 youthful and affectionate graduation photos and farewell speeches were pasted on the message wall. Among them, 58 readers submitted to the event platform. With 95 graduation photos and affectionate confession, Liu Zheng, a student who has been admitted to the Information Management Department of Peking University's Information Management Class 181, wrote affectionately: After a year of postgraduate entrance examination, the library is my home, and I have successfully landed on the shore. Thank you! I love libraries!
At the same time, all the party and government leaders of the library (cultural heritage department) took this event to send graduation blessings and ardent messages to all graduates.
3. "Donate a Wisp of Book Fragrance, Donate a Love" Graduate Book Donation Activity
In order to enrich the campus culture, create a strong scholarly campus atmosphere, and deepen the relationship between readers and the library, the library (cultural heritage department), together with the logistics support department and the University Student Reading Association, launched the "Donate a Wisp of Books, Donate a Piece of True Love" Graduate Donation. The book activity encourages graduates to donate unused books that cannot be taken away to their juniors and other people in need. The activity was warmly responded by the graduates and achieved satisfactory results. In the early stage of the Reader Service Department, the staff carefully planned, carried out extensive publicity, set up a number of donation points, and designed a book donation seal for students who donated books to sign on the title page. More than 500 donated books of various types received by the event will be circulated to the 2022 freshmen next semester in the form of book exchange collections. Books suitable for reading by rural teenagers will be donated to relevant rural bookstores.
4. Dissertation review and graduation
In the context of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, although the library has simplified the school leaving procedures, the number of graduate school leavers (including postgraduates) is large, and the time for leaving school is relatively concentrated, facing huge pressure and challenges. The Reader Service Department mobilizes all librarians to participate in the whole process to help undergraduates pay off the books they borrowed and late payment fees, so that undergraduates can handle the school leave in a timely and smooth manner; organize librarians to work overtime to collect and review the hardcover and electronic versions of graduate dissertations. Up to now, 2,711 postgraduate dissertations have been included in the database, and 2,545 graduate students have successfully gone through the formalities for leaving the school.
Youth does not graduate, and reading does not end. The library (Cultural Heritage Department) will continue to adhere to the concept of a document guarantee center, a learning support center, a knowledge service center and a cultural education center, build a first-class work team and a first-class working mechanism, and strive to do a good job in various services and education. , laying a solid foundation for building a world-class university with agricultural characteristics.
