On the afternoon of December 24, the Resource Development Department of the Pukou Branch of the Library organized a meeting for the teachers of the Pukou campus teacher recommendation team for the first time. This symposium was convened by the Resource Development Department of Pukou Branch Library, and 11 teachers from the teacher recommendation team attended the meeting.
In 2021, in order to improve the quality and utilization of resources, the Resource Development Department of Pukou Branch has invited 14 teachers from the three resident colleges, management committee and basic courses of Pukou campus through various channels, and initially formed a teacher recommendation letter. The team participates in the resource construction work of the library.
At the symposium, Deputy Curator Kang Min first expressed his gratitude to the teachers for their support of library resource construction. He pointed out that the library, as a service department, purchases resources to support and assist the school's teaching and research work. The utilization rate of paper books has been declining year by year. In order to make our books more circulated to teachers and students, now let teachers participate in our procurement work and buy us the books you need in teaching and research. Improving the utilization rate of books is of great help. Director Luo Yuhui gave a brief report on the teachers’participation in the interview this year, and put forward the working ideas and goals for 2022. We hope that in the new year, more teachers who are enthusiastic about library resource construction will join our team. More interview initiative is left to the teachers. Teacher Xu Linfeng compiled a total of 14,400 books purchased by our library in 2021, with a fund of more than 850,000 yards. Teachers participated in the purchase of 312 kinds of books, more than 600 books, totaling more than 35,000 yards, accounting for about 4.3% of the total purchase volume.
At the symposium, the teachers expressed their gratitude to the library for paying attention to the book needs of teachers and students, and also made many suggestions for resource procurement. Some teachers suggested that more books should be purchased for catalogs and manuals; some suggested that the purchase of books on moral education and aesthetics should be strengthened, and students from engineering backgrounds need to be fully nurtured; some teachers suggested that they should pay attention to the construction of college students’mental health books; Procurement and promotion of e-books and audio books, etc. At the same time, it also expresses the inconvenience of sometimes urgently needing to purchase books. Teacher Luo once again recommended the use of Yuntaibu, and introduced the adjustment of the reimbursement plan for self-purchased books in the new year, hoping that the teachers' needs for books can be best met.
The atmosphere of the symposium was lively and the exchanges were very joyful. It is expected that in 2022, the relationship between the library and the college will be closer and better serve the teaching and scientific research of the school.
