The Elsevier 2020 China Highly Cited Scholars List was officially released on April 22, 2021 (Thursday). This time the list uses the Ministry of Education's first-level subject mapping for the first time, covering 10 subject areas and 84 subjects of the Ministry of Education. A total of 4,023 scholars from 373 institutions were shortlisted in this first-level discipline.
In this list of highly cited scholars, a total of 36 scholars from Nanjing Agricultural University were selected, an increase of 27 from the previous year, and the number of selected scholars ranked 26th among Chinese universities. Among them, 8 people were selected in the field of agricultural resources and environment, 5 people were selected in the field of crop science, 4 people were selected in the fields of biology and animal husbandry, and 3 people were selected in the fields of food science and engineering, horticulture, and plant protection. Two people were selected in each of agricultural engineering and veterinary science, and one was selected in each of grass science and public administration.
