The world's important university ranking institutions (QS, THE, Shanghai Jiaotong University China's Best University Rankings, China's Highly Cited Scholars Ranking, etc.) all use the data of the Scopus database as a benchmark to evaluate the output and development of the disciplines. In addition, Scopus is also the data report source for the fifth round of subject evaluation.

Scopus has an optional Chinese search interface, supports scholar search, institution search, and document search, and can visually analyze the search results. It can provide the following help for school researchers, libraries, and scientific research managers:
1. Understand the research dynamics of the institution, subject performance, cooperative units, academic output, and high-impact mechanics
2. Track the development direction of frontier subjects, understand the high-level period of the subject field, and determine possible subject research directions
3. Understand the quality of journals in the subject area, international influence, and possible future submission directions and target journals
4. Find potential cooperative institutions and cooperative scholars to help the further development of scientific research
5. Comparison of academic output among institutions, disciplines, and scholars, help determine the development strategies of institutions and disciplines, discover and train potential talents in the institution, and introduce possible outstanding talents
