The steps for setting up ScienceDirect remote access are as follows:

First step

 

To set up remote access, you need to register first. If you are already registered, skip to step 2.

 

If you have not yet registered, please open the ScienceDirect homepage (https://www-sciencedirect-com-s.vpn.njau.edu.cn/), click "register" in the upper right corner of the page, and register ScienceDirect personal account with the institutional email (such as xxxx@pku.edu.cn).

 

Second steps

 

Click "remote access" at the bottom of the page for remote access.

 

Note: "remote access" will not be displayed at the bottom of the page if:

 

1. The current personal account has completed remote access settings

 

2. Your organization has not completed the setting of remote access mode. It is recommended that you contact the person in charge of your organization's library.

 

Third steps

 

Enter your email address and click continue.

 

Fourth steps

 

Your mailbox will receive a confirmation email. Please click the link in the email within one hour to activate remote access.

 

Fifth steps

 

After clicking "get access rights", the remote access is set successfully. Click "sign in" on the home page to enter email address and password to access ScienceDirect.

 

Your personal account will have 180 days of remote access, and will automatically continue for 180 days after each login. If you do not log in to ScienceDirect for a long time, you need to repeat the above operations.
