Introduction of platform

The overall goal of CADAL project construction is to build an academic digital library with multidisciplinary, multi-type and multilingual mass digital resources, which is widely involved in the construction and service of libraries, academic organizations and professionals at home and abroad and has a high technical level, and become one of the information infrastructure of the national innovation system. The first phase of the project has been completed with 1 million copies (pieces) of digital resources, 70 million yuan invested by the state and about 2 million dollars invested by the us cooperative units. The first phase of construction is led by zhejiang university and the graduate school of the Chinese academy of sciences, with 16 universities including Peking University, tsinghua university, fudan university and nanjing university participating in the construction. Built two digital library technology center (zhejiang university, graduate school, Chinese academy of sciences) and 14 digital resource center (Beijing university, tsinghua university, zhejiang university, fudan university, nanjing university, graduate school of Chinese academy of sciences, Shanghai jiaotong university, xi 'an jiaotong university, wuhan university, huazhong university of science and technology, jilin university, sun yat-sen university, sichuan university, Beijing normal university), forming a set of mature support TB scale production, management and service of digital objects technology platform, explore multimedia and virtual reality technology in digital library, the application of push technology reached the international leading level in the digital library, It lays a resource and technical foundation for the sustainable development of digital library construction and service.

The first phase of the project has constructed 1.023 million Chinese and English digital resources, mainly including:

155,910 volumes of ancient Chinese books

236,594 books and periodicals of the republic of China

298,869 modern Chinese books

178,159 dissertations in Chinese

2786 volumes of other Chinese resources

151,107 English books

(2) resources under construction

The second phase of the project plans to build 1.5 million copies/piece of digital resources, mainly including:

Ancient Chinese books: 100,000 volumes (pieces)

Literature of the republic of China: 200,000 copies (issue), including:

Books of the republic of China: 40,000;

Journal of the republic of China: 140,000 issues;

Newspaper of the republic of China: 20,000 issues.

Chinese books: 300,000 copies

Chinese newspaper: 50,000 issues

Foreign language books: 300,000 copies

Technical report in foreign language: 100,000

Local cultural and historical data: 250,000 pieces, including:

Full iron data: 100,000 pieces

Overseas Chinese approval: 50,000 pieces

Local Chronicles: 50,000 copies

Information on ethnic minorities: 50,000 copies

Graphic images: 150,000 pieces, including:

Calligraphy and painting, seal cutting, animation, New Year paintings, comic strips and other artistic works;

Specimens, sections, manuscripts and other research materials

Audio-visual data: 50,000 pieces
