The 2018 GCHERA world agriculture awards ceremony is held at nanjing agricultural university on oct 28. Professor Eric itenki dankua from the university of Ghana in the republic of Ghana in west Africa and professor ratan lyall from Ohio state university in the United States Shared the prize.

Chen ligen analyzed the important strategies of China's current agricultural development and the complex situation of world agricultural development, and described the efforts made by nanjing agricultural university in related fields under the guidance of national "One Belt And One Road" and "building a community of Shared future for mankind". Professor Eric ilenki dengkua has long been committed to the breeding and promotion of local high-quality crop varieties, and the development of three high-yield maize varieties in Ghana has significantly improved the maize productivity. In 2007, he pushed for the establishment of the west African crop improvement center at the university of Ghana. For more than a decade, the center has enrolled 114 PHDS in plant breeding from 18 African countries. Prof danqua has helped the university of Ghana set up the international seed technology master's degree programme and biotechnology centre, making it one of the most resourceful and well-supported institutions of higher education in agriculture and life sciences in sub-saharan Africa.
Professor ratan lyer has long been concerned about the sustainable management of agricultural ecosystems and soil resources, and believes that "the health of soil, plants, animals, humans and ecological areas is an integral whole". Forty years ago, he was the first to carry out research on the impact of deforestation on climate, soil and crop growth. Since 1987, he has been committed to reducing climate change and restoring soil health by regulating the sequestration and management of organic carbon concentration in soil, on the one hand to improve crop yield and quality, and on the other to reduce the use of chemicals. According to incomplete statistics, professor Lyle's 2004 paper in the journal science was cited more than 4,500 times, and "food security under climate change" was named the best atlas prize among the 2,500 journal disciplines published by elsevier.
