Guest speaker: Professor Gao Wei ( California Institute of Technology )

Topic: Wearable Biosensor

Speaker introduction: Professor Gao Wei is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Medical Engineering of the California Institute of Technology. He graduated from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2007 , received a master's degree from the Department of Precision Instrumentation of Tsinghua University in 2009 , and obtained chemistry from the University of California, San Diego in 2014. Ph.D. in engineering, and was funded by the Howard·Hughes Medical School (HHMI) International Student Award. From 2014 to 2017 , he carried out post-doctoral research in the Department of Electronic Engineering and Computing Science, University of California, Berkeley. Professor Gao Wei has won many awards such as the Sloan Research Award, the Young Achievement Award of the IEEE Engineering Medicine and Biology Society, the Technical Achievement Award of the IEEE Sensor Council, the Young Researcher Award of the American Chemical Society (ACS) , and was selected into the MIT Technology Review TR35 Global List. Shan, Clarivate Analytics was cited as a scholar and was selected as a young scientist of the World Economic Forum and a member of the Global Youth Academy. Professor Gao Wei is currently the associate editor of Science Advances . His research interests include wearable devices, biosensors, flexible electronics, micro-nano robots and nanomedicine.

Lecturer: Professor Hong Yuning ( La Trobe University , Melbourne , Australia )

Lecture topic: Chemical and Biological Application of Aggregation Induced Luminescent Materials

Lecturer introduction: Senior lecturer and doctoral supervisor of La Trobe University in Melbourne , Australia. Dr. Hong graduated from Sun Yat-sen University with a bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry, and then studied for a Ph.D. in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Academician Tang Benzhong's research group, and received his Ph.D. in 2011 . He once engaged in post-doctoral research in the field of biochemistry at Dartmouth University in the United States, and then returned to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as an assistant research professor. So far , more than 110 academic papers have been published in SCI , and the papers have been cited more than 16,000 times, and he has cited more than 15,000 times, h-Index = 49 . Applied and authorized 9 US patents and 1 Chinese patent . Australia has won the Royal Society of Chemistry Award for Young Women in Science lecture (Rita Cornforth Lectureship) , the Australian Research Council grant of early researchers (ARC DECRA) , Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Institute for Advanced Studies of young people, the 40 th Lorne Protein Structure and Function of the General Assembly Young Investigator Award and other honors. The main research direction of Dr. Hong's research group is chemical biology, and the development and application of aggregation-induced luminescent materials and new fluorescence imaging methods for the analysis of protein homeostasis and cellular microenvironment changes related to neurodegenerative diseases. Currently Dr. Hong serves as AggregateAssociate editor of the magazine and young editorial board member of Materials Chemistry Frontier .
