Zhang Zhiwen (1900-1982): Zi Luquan, a native of Laian, Anhui, an agricultural expert. He graduated from the Agricultural College of Jinling University in 1922 and stayed on to teach in the school. In 1923, he served as the director of the agricultural specialty department and presided over the work of the agricultural extension pilot area. In 1930, he went to Cornell University in the United States for further study, specializing in agricultural technology extension. From 1937 to 1948, he served as the dean of the School of Agriculture of Jinling University. During the presidency of Jinda Agricultural College, he successively bred dozens of crop varieties such as wheat 2905 and soybean 332. In 1949, he was hired by the United Nations as a consultant to the Far East Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and concurrently as the executive secretary of the World Rice Association.
