On October 18th, as the school celebrated its 118th anniversary, Ms. Wang Dongdong, the descendant of Mr. Zhang Zhiwen, the former dean of Jinda Agricultural College, visited the school history museum with his sons, relatives and friends and senior management of Duolun Technology Co., Ltd.

Ms. Dongdong Wang and his entourage walked into the school history museum, listened attentively to the explanation of our school’s 118 years of development, took pictures in front of Mr. Zhang Zhiwen’s photo, and recalled Mr. Zhang’s work for the School of Agriculture of Jinling University and China Agricultural Science and Education with the staff of the school history museum. contribution. Zhang Zhiwen (1900-1982): Zi Luquan, a native of Laian, Anhui, an agricultural expert. He graduated from the Agricultural College of Jinling University in 1922 and stayed on to teach in the school. In 1923, he served as the director of the agricultural specialty department and presided over the work of the agricultural extension pilot area. In 1930, he went to Cornell University in the United States for further study, specializing in agricultural technology extension. From 1937 to 1948, he served as the dean of the School of Agriculture of Jinling University. During the presidency of Jinda Agricultural College, he successively bred dozens of crop varieties such as wheat 2905 and soybean 332. In 1949, he was hired by the United Nations as a consultant to the Far East Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and concurrently as the executive secretary of the World Rice Association. He is the author of "Integrated System of Agricultural Teaching, Research and Extension", "Theory and Practice of Agricultural Extension", "Agriculture in Asia", "New Strategy for Asian Agricultural Development", etc.
