Novel Coronavirus is ravaging the world in 2020. Only 15 international students have arrived in our school, and 48 international freshmen are still abroad. In order to help international students fully understand the library, adapt to the new learning and living environment as soon as possible, and make better use of library resources. On the afternoon of 29 September, the Reader Services Department held a special orientation session for 15 new international students in the Institute of International Education at A610.
This entry education was mainly conducted in the form of classroom explanation, on-site question-answering and on-site visit, and the whole process was explained in English. Mr. Hou Meili from the Reader service Department introduced the general situation of the library, collection distribution, mobile library, book lending, electronic resources, rules and regulations, opening time and other contents in detail. Then, under the guidance of Teacher Liu Yan, I visited and explained the specific collection distribution of the library and the use of self-borrowing and returning facilities, so as to facilitate international students to make more effective use of various library resources in their future study and research. In addition, I visited the one-man poetry painting exhibition in the library, and had a close experience of the extensive and profound Chinese calligraphy and ink painting culture.
Through this entrance education, international students express a more detailed understanding of library resources, and at the same time stimulate their enthusiasm for the upcoming academic research.
