Announcement on "ProQuest platform launch optimization function"

On July 30, ProQuest platform launched optimization function. The purpose of this optimization and upgrading is to provide users with more access to open access resources and enhance the use of library resources. Our library and users do not need to do any operation, this upgrade will be activated automatically. The optimization functions are as follows:
More open access resource retrieval results can be accessed in ProQuest platform
In addition to library subscription or own resources, authorized users at institutions who subscribe to at least one ProQuest database can now view OA resources in ProQuest publicly available content database in the search results.
Today, our library users can retrieve more than 1000 authoritative open access academic resources from more than 70 countries and regions, covering multiple disciplines. Open access resources in the search results will be identified by an icon.
Check "expand search results" to find more resources
A check box is added to the search results list page. After the user selects, it will be able to query more extensive content and obtain more retrieval results. Content other than library subscription and its own resources will also be displayed in the search results. This function will bring users more resources related to search terms. The search term is highlighted in the resource content. Users can also learn about other relevant resources available through this function.

Users can find out whether the resource can be fully retrieved, referenced, summarized or previewed through the label on the right side of the resource.
ProQuest platform will automatically check "extended search results" by default. The librarian can also cancel the auto check in ProQuest administrator center. For details
