On December 7, by agriculture and forestry institute of Chinese degree and postgraduate education working committee and the national agricultural professional degree graduate education steering committee, nanjing agricultural university, nanjing forestry university to undertake the second session of the national agriculture and forestry colleges and universities graduate student academic science and technology works competition finals and awards ceremony held in nanjing agricultural university. More than 120 participants from 25 agricultural and forestry universities all over the country gathered together. Experts from many universities and research institutes served as judges of the final.
In his speech, liu jiangtao said that postgraduate education is at the top of the national education system and is an important combination of the first productivity of science and technology, the first resource of talents and the first driving force of innovation. In 2017, two universities in jiangsu province entered the ranks of world-class universities, 13 universities entered the ranks of world-class disciplines, and the number of double-first-class universities and disciplines ranked second in China.
According to liu jiangtao, starting from 2018, the provincial level office and the education department of jiangsu province have set up 10 practical innovation competitions for postgraduates in the innovation project of postgraduate training in jiangsu province, with each competition funded by the provincial financial department worth 200,000 yuan. Liu yingjun said that first-class postgraduate education is an important symbol of first-class universities. Nanjing agricultural university focuses on a series of fundamental problems of "who to cultivate, how to cultivate and for whom to cultivate", and strives to cultivate outstanding leaders who can solve the problems of human survival and health. Currently, in terms of international evaluation, the university is ranked in the top 10 of US News world's best agricultural science university, with 7 disciplines ranked in the top 1% of ESI and 2 disciplines ranked in the top 1‰. In terms of domestic evaluation, 7 disciplines have won the fourth round of discipline evaluation, of which 4 subjects have obtained A+, and 8 subjects have entered the third round of advantageous discipline construction in jiangsu province. In 2018, the university won three national teaching achievement awards and two education achievement awards for postgraduate students of education society of Chinese academic degree and postgraduate students.
Yao zhiyou, vice minister of the postgraduate work department of the party committee of our university, introduced that 177 pieces of works pushed by 37 agricultural and forestry colleges across the country participated in the competition, and 36 pieces of natural science, philosophy and social science, scientific and technological inventions and production pieces from 25 agricultural and forestry colleges were selected for the final, and 4 pieces of postgraduate works of our university entered the final.

Introducing his innovative research, li yuchen, a doctoral student at the school of veterinary medicine, said: "traditional studies have suggested that the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus is mainly transmitted through the digestive tract, with oral vaccine and intramuscular injection as the main prevention and treatment means. Our team has found that PEDV can also cause intestinal mucosa disease in piglets through nasal invasion.
In the opinion of on-site judge guo xin, this finding explains the reasons why porcine epidemic diarrhea spreads rapidly, spreads widely and is difficult to prevent and control. It not only clarifies the ways and mechanisms of porcine epidemic diarrhea diffusion after the invasion of porcine bodies, but also proposes new immune methods for the effective control of porcine epidemic diarrhea.
